Volunteering

Get Involved with the Huron County Branch!

With over 200 members, the Huron County Branch is a thriving community of genealogy enthusiasts. While 18% of our members reside in Huron County, we rely on local volunteers to help organize meetings, events, and initiatives. However, no matter where you live, there are ways to contribute! If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, contact [email protected] or [email protected]

Live in Huron County?

  • Help us find new resources – do you know of records or even copies of records that we could scan? Help us scan new resources!
  • Join the Branch Council – Let us know if you’re interested in serving on the council or a committee.
  • Help with events – Assist with setup, greeting guests, and cleanup at special events.
  • Represent Us at Events – Help staff tables at fall fairs, conferences, and other gatherings so we can all enjoy these events while sharing our mission.

Live Outside of Huron County?

  • Join the Branch Council! Many roles can be done from your home via Zoom!
  • Indexing Projects – As we continue to digitize historical documents, we need volunteers to index records for better accessibility. If you can work in Excel, we can send you files to index or review.
  • Share Your Research Finds – Have you discovered websites, archives, or resources with valuable Huron County genealogy information? Let us know so we can share them with our members!
